Tyson Foods accused of showing bias against American workers by conservative group

Reported 4 months ago

Tyson Foods has refuted accusations by a conservative group, America First Legal (AFL), founded by former Trump administration officials, that the company is discriminating against U.S. citizens by hiring immigrants, including children and individuals in the country illegally. AFL, led by Stephen Miller and with former Acting U.S. Attorney General Matthew Whitaker on its board, called for investigations into Tyson's employment practices. Tyson denied the claims, stating that all its 120,000 U.S. employees are legally authorized to work and that they do not discriminate against Americans to hire immigrant workers. AFL alleged that Tyson employs 42,000 foreign workers, more than one-third of its U.S. workforce, and accused the company of violating federal and Iowa laws.
