On June 26, 2024, Wang Yuwen, a lawyer at Grandall International Law Firm, pointed out the risks companies face when presenting visions in sustainability reports to stakeholders, aiming to provide insights into future business developments. While listed companies in Taiwan have been following the Financial Supervisory Commission's sustainability action plan since 2023, many unlisted champions also publish sustainability reports to meet global trends and stakeholder demands. However, discrepancies between future aspirations and current obligations in these reports can expose companies to legal risks, urging a thorough risk assessment and action plan implementation based on the SDGs' 17 goals to avoid misinterpretations of company responsibilities.
