A recent survey by the American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam revealed that most U.S. manufacturers expect to lay off workers if the Trump administration enforces new tariffs on Vietnam. Nearly two-thirds of manufacturers foresee potential job cuts due to these tariffs, which mark a shift in sentiment as the country has previously benefited from investments moving from China. The majority of surveyed companies worry that increased costs from tariffs could disrupt supply chains, prompting some to consider diversifying away from the U.S. market.
