USTR extends certain Chinese tariff exclusions, but many are set to expire.

Reported 5 months ago

The U.S. Trade Representative's office has extended some Chinese tariff exclusions on 352 Chinese import and 77 pandemic-related categories through June 14, with some extended until May 31, 2025. These exclusions cover various goods like animal-feeding machinery, blood pressure monitors, and thermostats. However, many exclusions are set to expire, leading to additional tariffs on products like garage-door openers and electric motorcycles. This move follows the Trump administration's implementation of tariffs in 2018 and 2019 under Section 301, with President Biden also maintaining and adding to these restrictions on Chinese exports.
