Alphabet's Waymo has doubled its weekly paid rides to 100,000 in just over three months, thanks to the expansion of its service areas and a significant investment from Alphabet. The company is currently the only U.S. firm operating paid, uncrewed robotaxis and recently opened its service to all users in San Francisco while extending coverage to areas in metro Phoenix and parts of Los Angeles.
