WisdomTree and 21Shares are set to list exchange-traded products (ETPs) backed by cryptocurrencies on the London Stock Exchange, following approval from Britain's financial regulator. These listings, the first in the UK, come after the Financial Conduct Authority authorized the launch of cryptoasset-backed exchange-traded notes for professional investors. The move reflects the increasing interest in cryptocurrency investments through ETPs, with WisdomTree's products for bitcoin and ether expected to be listed on May 28. The FCA has warned about the high risks associated with cryptocurrencies and prohibits selling them to retail investors.
