Political commentator Zhang Yushao, known for his pro-Green views, was ordered by the Taipei District Court to pay 100,000 yuan in a lawsuit filed by current legislator Lo Chih-chiang for defamation. Zhang accused Lo of asking another individual to carry his briefcase in public, among other claims. During the trial, it was revealed that Zhang had allegedly sexually harassed female Democratic Progressive Party workers and had been accused by around 20 women of habitual sexual harassment. Lo Chih-chiang commented on the case, expressing a sense of poetic justice in the timing of the trial. Zhang's defense lawyer argued that Zhang's claims were based on an article written by political pundit Wu Kun-yu, but the court found that Zhang's statements were indeed defamatory and lacked proper verification.
