A 55-year-old woman experienced chronic pain and discomfort around her temples, ears, and head due to a bacterial infection called neisseria animaloris. The bacteria, commonly found in the mouths of cats and dogs, entered her body through close contact with her pets as she adopted many stray animals as family. The infection spread from her nose and throat to her middle ear, causing hearing impairment and ear ringing.
