A recent survey by Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health revealed that approximately 32% of Americans have known someone who died from a drug overdose. The study found that those who experienced this loss were more likely to support policies addressing addiction. Researchers emphasized the need for greater policy changes by mobilizing individuals who have lost someone to drug addiction. Opioids, including potent synthetic drugs like fentanyl, have contributed to the increasing overdose death rates over the years. Despite a recent decrease in U.S. drug overdose deaths, the overall numbers remain alarmingly high.
