New York Mets make multiple roster moves, including release of Jorge Lopez and Omar Narvaez

Reported 4 months ago

The New York Mets announced various roster changes, including the release of pitcher Jorge Lopez and catcher Omar Narvaez. Additionally, reliever Shintaro Fujinami was moved to the 60-day IL, and catcher Joe Hudson was selected to the 40-man roster and transferred to Triple-A. Hudson, along with Cole Sulser and Brett Baty, will be part of the taxi squad for the upcoming trip to London. The Mets have the option to activate a 27th player for the weekend series, but have not yet decided between Hudson and Baty. Lopez was released after an incident during a game, while Narvaez struggled both offensively and defensively, leading to the acquisition of Luis Torrens from the Yankees. Fujinami, who had signed with the Mets in the offseason, struggled with command issues and was sidelined with a shoulder strain, while Hudson, acquired in April, has played in 19 games for Triple-A.
