Speedway Motorsports announced the reconfiguration of the Charlotte Roval circuit ahead of the playoff weekend in October, with changes designed to enhance passing opportunities and competition. The modifications include extending the straightaway out of Turn 5, creating a new Turn 6, adding elevation changes, and constructing a sharper apex in Turn 16, as well as installing "robust" turtles in the final chicane. The goal is to provide more overtaking opportunities and improve the overall racing experience for drivers during the Xfinity and Cup races. The reconfiguration has been in development for about 1.5 years, with input from drivers and a focus on safety and competition.
