On July 5, 2024, at 8:40 a.m., a mother in Xinzhuang, New Taipei City, registered her 4-year-old son for swimming class. During the lesson, the teacher took one child alone in the water, leaving four other children to practice by themselves. As a result, two boys accidentally fell into the water and choked.
