After visiting the Uffizi Gallery, I immediately brought Mom to Florence's famous Affogato cafe, Vivoli Il Gelato, founded by Raffaello Vivoli, who initially started as a small shop offering coffee and pastries in 1932. With the popularity of ice cream, the Vivoli family began making and selling artisanal gelato, becoming renowned in Florence for its quality and innovative flavors. Particularly famous is their Affogato, a cup with vanilla ice cream rimming the edge, topped with a shot of espresso, attracting tourists daily.
