Retired journalist and senior photographer Lai Chengmao passed away early in the morning on May 29, at the age of 94. The family sorrowfully announced the news, with a farewell ceremony scheduled for 10 a.m. the following day at Chiayi City Funeral Parlor. Lai, who started photographing at the age of 16, captured numerous photos and videos in his lifetime. Known for his documentation of the 1964 Baihe earthquake, Lai's valuable images depicted the local devastation.
