All 31 large US banks that participated in the Federal Reserve stress test have shown the ability to withstand a severe global recession, with ample capital to absorb losses and continue lending. Results revealed that the banks collectively could handle a scenario where US unemployment rises to 10%, commercial real estate prices drop 40%, and the stock market plunges 55%. The banks, including JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley, all maintained capital buffers nearly double the Fed's minimum requirement of 4.5%. There were signs of some weaknesses, but overall, the banks demonstrated resilience in the face of extreme economic stress.

On June 26, 2024, China Credit Financial Holding announced that Lin Qinmiao, Chairman of China Credit Insurance, will resign due to personal reasons, effective July 2. It is understood that Xu Dongmin, a director of Taiwan Life Insurance, a subsidiary of China Credit, is expected to succeed as Chairman of China Credit Insurance pending approval at the July 2 board meeting. Lin Qinmiao will transition to a non-financial industry. Lin Qinmiao, who served as Chairman of China Credit Insurance since 2017, played key roles in the merger process of Taiwan Life Insurance and China Life Insurance. Xu Dongmin, who retired from China Life last April and joined China Credit in April 2023, is now poised to take over as Chairman of China Credit Insurance, subject to board approval. Additionally, New Life Insurance has recently shown improved investment performance and profitability, turning a profit since February with after-tax profits reaching 6 billion NTD by May. The board has promoted three investment executives to strengthen the investment strategy for the second half of the year.

As the trend of bond ETFs fundraising continues to burn on, this year has seen multiple US bond and financial bond ETFs continuously raising more funds. Last year, there were nearly 50 approved extensions for bond ETFs from ten investment companies, and this year, large investment company-affiliated bond ETFs have raised funds more than 20 times, matching the fervor of last year. With over 20 approved extensions in the first half of this year, the overall heat of bond ETF fundraising is on par with last year. Analysts have attributed the increased interest in bond ETFs this year to the stability and hedging functions provided by US government bonds, as well as the historical performance during interest rate change cycles. Financial bonds have also become a target for market funds along with long-term US bond and investment-grade bond ETFs.
