A recent poll by the Japanese news agency Kyodo News reveals that only about one-third of Japanese citizens wish for Prime Minister Fumio Kishida to continue in office after the September Liberal Democratic Party leadership election, with over 30% of respondents hoping for Kishida to resign promptly. Kishida's support rating has dropped to 22.2%, while his disapproval rate is as high as 62.4%, leading to around 36.6% of people expressing a desire for his prompt resignation. With Kishida's dwindling support, it seems unlikely for him to be reelected in the September LDP leadership election. Former LDP Secretary-General Shigeru Ishiba, who has obtained 20% support in a poll by Mainichi Shimbun, appears to be in a strong position to succeed Kishida. The public also views Economy, Trade, and Industry Minister Sanae Takaichi favorably to assume the LDP leadership position.

Taiwan TV News Network reported on June 24, 2024, that the selling rate of Japanese Yen at Taiwan Bank hit an all-time low of 0.2061, allowing for an exchange of over 30,000 more Yen when converting 100,000 New Taiwan Dollars compared to the beginning of the year. Despite the favorable exchange rate, experts suggest refraining from hasty exchanges as the Yen is expected to continue depreciating. Additionally, with gold prices on the rise due to increased production costs and geopolitical risks, experts predict further increases, leading to a surge in consumer spending on gold, particularly during mid-year promotions.

Huang suggested that prematurely attempting to revoke power lacks legitimacy, drawing little public interest. The recall threshold for Yeh is 58,000 votes, with a vote difference of about 91,000.
