According to a report by Taiwan Television News on June 18, 2024, a team led by a professor at the University of Tehran analyzed two earthquakes near the Turkey-Syria border on February 6 of the previous year using various satellite data. They found that 12 to 19 days before an earthquake, there were significant anomalies in surface temperatures in the epicenter, and 5 to 10 days before, atmospheric parameters like water vapor and methane were abnormal. The study aims to create a low false alarm rate earthquake early warning system based on these findings, although there is still no accurate method for predicting earthquakes. Similar monitoring is conducted by the Taiwan Earthquake Center, contributing to a better understanding of earthquakes for future applications in enhancing warning system accuracy and reducing disaster damage.

According to a survey conducted by the Taiwan Public Opinion Foundation, 43% of Taiwanese adults are generally satisfied, 25% are dissatisfied, 19% have no opinion, and 12% are unsure. Despite the approval rating falling below 50%, Premier Su Tseng-Chang expressed his commitment to strive for improvement where it is lacking, emphasizing the importance of cherishing the positive feedback and informing the public about the cabinet's direction and upcoming significant measures. The foundation also compared the approval ratings of the first month in office of previous cabinets led by Chen Chien-jen, Su Tseng-Chang, and Lai Ching-te, which were higher than Su's current cabinet. The foundation clarified that this does not necessarily indicate a poorer performance by Su's cabinet, as the initial circumstances and environment were more challenging. The survey was conducted from June 11 to 13, 2024, with a sample of 1070 adults aged 20 and above across Taiwan, using a dual-frame random sampling method. The margin of error was approximately ±3 percentage points at a 95% confidence level, with sample adjustments made based on the latest population statistics from the Ministry of the Interior.
