Japanese Yen Hits Sweetest of the Year! Exchange 100,000 TWD for '3,000 More Yen' Than Last Year

Yahoo Finance special correspondent Chen Yimin reported on June 20, 2024, that the Japanese Yen has depreciated against the US dollar, breaking the 158 mark, and Taipei Fubon Bank's exchange rate is at its sweetest today at 0.2078 yen, making it the best of the year. Following the Bank of Japan's decision to keep the benchmark interest rate at 0.1% last week, the yen fell to its lowest against the dollar at 158.24, with Fubon Bank offering a favorable exchange rate. Those exchanging 50,000 TWD now receive 24,625 yen, compared to 22,613 yen in December, an increase of 1,7012 yen. With a more favorable exchange rate today, one could enjoy 21 extra bowls of ramen, priced between 800 to 1200 yen each. Exchanging 100,000 TWD now yields 481,231 yen, compared to 447,227 yen last year, an increase of over 30,000 yen.
