On June 25, 2024, at 3:12 AM, the 58-year-old director surnamed Hsu from the Aquaculture Experiment Station of the Ministry of Agriculture collapsed and became comatose while preparing for a meeting at the Legislative Yuan in Zhongxing Building. Due to the hot weather, with a daily production of over 120,000 boxes of domestically produced eggs (200 eggs per box), egg prices continue to decrease in Taiwan. Starting from today, the farmgate price has fallen by 2 yuan, reaching 25.5 NTD per catty, and the wholesale price will be 35 NTD on the 27th. This marks the sixth price reduction since late April. The lowest farmgate price in nearly four years was 23.5 NTD per catty in October of the 110th year of the Republic of China, just 2 NTD higher than the current price.
