FTNN News Network - June 25, 2024, 3:13 AM: The Mona-Museum of Old and New Art in Tasmania, Australia, faced accusations of gender discrimination when a man was denied access to a Picasso painting hung in the women's restroom, leading to a court ruling in favor of allowing male visitors in the area. In response, the curator hung the Picasso painting in the women's restroom in protest. The museum, owned by Australian billionaire David Walsh, shut down the women's restroom instead of complying with the court order to allow access, prompting the curator's unconventional decision. The museum plans to appeal the ruling and suggests reclassifying the area to avoid gender discrimination claims under Tasmania's Anti-Discrimination Act. More details on the FTNN website.
