In Chiayi Taibao on June 19, 2024, at around 1:00 AM, a fatal car-motorcycle accident occurred on the 168 County Road. A 27-year-old officer named Chen, on his way to work, collided with a motorcycle, resulting in the death of a 74-year-old female rider. Chen was charged with negligence causing death, but due to it being considered a regular traffic accident, there would be no further penalties initially.
