According to CTV News Network, on July 1, 2024, at 11:43 a.m., a fire broke out in an apartment on Shengnan Street in the South District of Tainan City. Around 40 firefighters from various fire stations rushed to the scene with over 20 fire trucks. The fire, which was in a reinforced concrete building with commercial spaces on the first floor and residences above, resulted in thick smoke and flames on the third floor and above. Firefighters are currently using an aerial ladder to rescue two individuals who called for help from the 4th and 3rd floors and simultaneously conducting forced entry rescue to help the reported 6 trapped individuals. The fire was put out at 12:38 p.m., with 4 individuals rescued so far, one of whom is in critical condition and receiving medical treatment at the hospital.
