The Taiwan Ministry of National Defense revealed the latest Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) activities near the Taiwan Strait, detecting 23 PLA aircraft and 7 PLA vessels on June 23. Among them, a rare sighting was a PLA helicopter flying long range from north to south in the eastern waters near Taiwan, reaching as close as 45 nautical miles from Keelung. The PLA aircraft and vessels continue to operate near Taiwan with a notable concentration in different regions, with the Taiwanese military closely monitoring and responding to the PLA's movements.

A Japanese tapir named 'Hero' from Yokohama Zoo in Japan arrived in Taipei Zoo with no signs of life, after being anticipated to arrive on June 21. A subsequent autopsy conducted by Taipei Zoo's veterinary team and National Taiwan University experts confirmed that Hero died primarily due to heat stress, leading to circulatory failure, coagulation disorders, and pulmonary edema. A 71-year-old woman surnamed Liu was caught by staff at a supermarket in Zhongzheng District, Taipei City after stealing ribeye steaks worth 500 NT each five times within a month.
