Following the incident, Taiwan Railways plans to conduct daily inspections ahead of the first train each day on that section. While the East Main Line has a warning system for falling rocks, the West Main Line does not, as it is initially improved with engineering measures such as the Ming Tunnel to prevent such hazards. Despite real-time connections with the Central Weather Bureau, the heavy rain triggered by the mudflow did not exceed the alert threshold. A man named Black was arrested for using foul language, saying 'F*** your mother,' at a police station due to emotional outburst, but was ultimately declared innocent by a judge, deeming his actions as minor. The incident occurred in October 2023 when Black went to the police station twice to disturb the officers, leading to his arrest for insulting a public official. However, Black argued in court that he was actually trying to file a report and only uttered the foul language once out of emotional distress, with the judge finding insufficient evidence to convict him. The judge concluded that Black's behavior, although offensive, was within the limit of what a reasonable person can tolerate, lacking the intention to obstruct official duties.
