Four members of the wealthy Hinduja family residing in Geneva, Switzerland, were sentenced to 4 to 4.5 years in prison by a Swiss court for severely exploiting three domestic workers from India who were paid only 7 pounds a day for working 18 hours, less than 10% of the minimum wage in Switzerland. The court found them guilty of exploitation and illegal employment. This case is not the first involving mistreatment of domestic workers in Geneva, as in 2023, four Filipino domestic workers accused a member of a UN diplomatic mission of withholding their wages.

On June 21, 2024, at 11:10 PM, a report by Zhuang Qijun from Sanli News Network about a landslide at Daqingshui River in Hualien. Taiwan Railway's Puyuma Express train No. 229 derailed in the evening at Qingshui Tunnel due to the landslide, injuring the train conductor Chen and more than 10 passengers. Prior to this major accident, a video captured the Daqingshui River overflow and hit the slope, causing debris to spray onto the tracks, depicting the harrowing scene moments before the Puyuma train accident. The video showed the river's rapid surge, impacting the riverbed with debris, which eventually spilled over the slope onto the railway tracks, capturing the moments before the Puyuma train derailed. Taiwan Railway had earlier stated that preventive measures were in place at the accident site, however, the excessive landslide from Daqingshui River below the tracks caused the overflow onto the tracks, with the derailed train now removed from the scene and expected to clear by noon. Further incidents included a train hitting falling rocks, causing injuries to the conductor and over 10 passengers, amidst continuous accidents as reported by Sanli News Network.

On the evening of June 11, around 9 pm, a 70-year-old man named Zhou from Taoyuan got lost while out alone and collapsed on the roadside at the junction of Section 3 of Zhongshan Road and Shan Ye Road in Hukou Township, Hsinchu County. Yangmei police officers were alerted by passing citizens, who then escorted him to the police station to rest. After confirming his identity and address, they successfully escorted him back home.
