The military Explosive Ordnance Disposal team confirmed it was an Israeli-made 81mm artillery illuminating shell casing and safely disposed of it. The residents were shocked as they had ignored it, thinking it was a toy, for over a year. The military suspects it was mistakenly imported among scrap metal from abroad.

A man surnamed Yan (28 years old) from Chiayi was caught smuggling drugs into Taiwan from the Netherlands using each pack of drugs weighing 60 grams sent as letters to avoid suspicion.
