On June 20, 2024, at 3:52 am, the Tainan branch of the Administrative Enforcement Agency announced that a certain electroplating company in Rende District, Tainan City, was fined 2.18 million 4000 NTD for irregularly discharging wastewater from testing operations. As the company failed to pay within the deadline, the Tainan branch enforced a seizure, found deposits in their account, and finally collected the full penalty for violations. The company had been caught last September for unauthorized changes in production processes and discharging wastewater not meeting standards, leading to the penalty under the Water Pollution Control Act.
