On June 18, 2024, members of the Hong Kong gang 'He On Lok' conspired with a drug trafficking group in Taiwan to import exfoliating scrub and bath salt from Germany, concealing high-purity K drug within them to smuggle into Taiwan. The Criminal Investigation Bureau seized 8 kilograms of K drug with an estimated value of around 13 million, arrested a 20-year-old man from Hong Kong, a 47-year-old Taiwanese man, and a 31-year-old man, all involved in the case. The gang exploited Europe's loose drug regulations to mail various items containing drugs to Taiwan, where there is a high demand for K drug.
