The elder daughter living in the north did not fulfill her caregiving role, leaving the younger daughter in charge and causing the situation. The local village chief raised rational doubts about the younger daughter's intentions, believing she was motivated by the monthly pension. The local government will recover the overpaid pension, although there might not be severe legal consequences for the daughters' neglect in properly burying their father.
