A hairstylist surnamed Li from Taipei attended a high school classmate's birthday party in 2020, where the birthday celebrant's friend surnamed Jian pulled out a pepper spray gun and shot Li in the face at close range twice, causing his right eyeball to shatter. Despite surgical reconstruction, Li's eye could not be saved, leading to his eventual depression and suicide.
