A fire broke out at the Taitung City Hall recycling center on More Live Road in Taitung City around 10:30 am on June 28, possibly ignited by lithium batteries mistaken for recyclables. Firefighters and emergency personnel rushed to the scene to contain the blaze, using large machinery to prevent further spread of the fire. After nearly 1.5 hours of efforts, the fire was successfully controlled with no casualties.
