A 52-year-old man surnamed Li in Xizhi District, New Taipei City, was surrounded and subdued by police officers after pretending to cooperate but attempting to flee. During the confrontation, Li suddenly foamed at the mouth and lost consciousness. Despite receiving CPR at the scene and being rushed to the hospital, he was pronounced dead. At the Legislative Yuan on June 21, legislators were handling the reconsideration of the parliamentary power amendment bill through a roll call vote.
