Many steel products are exported from Taiwan to Europe, but the EU recently announced a unilateral change in rules by implementing a 15% cap on hot-rolled imports from all countries, including Taiwan, starting from July 1. This measure will lead to competition among countries and potentially impact steel mills like CSC and CHC in Taiwan. The EU's extension of steel import safeguard measures until 2026, which may overlap with the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) in 2026, could increase costs for businesses. CSC has acknowledged that this move will affect domestic industries, but they are closely monitoring the situation as the new regulations are still unclear.
